Turisme Comunitat Valenciana brings together more than 130 tourism technicians and informants from 83 municipalities and associations of the three provinces in La Nucía (Alicante) on Wednesday and Thursday for the XXIII edition of the Tourist Info Conference, in order to share professional experiences about tourist information at the destination.
This is an annual meeting that aims to serve as a «cohesion tool» for the human team of the Tourist Info Network, as reported by the Generalitat in a statement.
The Secretary of Tourism of the region, José Manuel Camarero, inaugurated this edition, where he emphasized the «importance» of these offices and the work carried out by the informants.
He pointed out that «in a world where digitization has multiplied ‘online’ sources of information, having rigorous and secure information is a necessity for tourists.»
«The Tourist Info office provides the value of security, it is the traveler’s refuge, where they find reliable information and personalized face-to-face attention,» Camarero noted.
In this context, the regional secretary detailed that «more and more visitors are obtaining information from the Tourist Info Network,» and highlighted that over 1.7 million people were informed here in 2024, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to 2023.
Camarero emphasized the «importance» of «continuing to innovate» in the offices: «We must combine the quality of face-to-face attention with digital tools and anticipate the needs of tourists, surprising them with proposals they would not find in a simple internet search, as well as continue working in a network, with a unified image and quality criteria that distinguish us as leaders in tourist attention.»
On this occasion, the conference has been organized with the collaboration of the City Council of La Nucía, which has invited participants to discover the municipality and its sports tourism offer, both for amateurs and professionals.
In this way, the Camilo Cano Sports City will be presented, in addition to the cultural offer of the town, and the El Captivador Environmental Education Center will be visited, a complex designed to bring nature and Mediterranean history closer to visitors.
In this XXIII edition, tourist informants will participate in the ‘Tourist Info Olympics’ and in sports-training activities to promote teamwork, taking advantage of the facilities in La Nucía.
244 OFFICES AND 20 INFORMATION POINTS
The Tourist Info Network of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana currently has 244 tourist information and customer service offices and more than 20 tourist information points, which, under a consistent image and quality criteria, provide tourist care and reception throughout the region.
The tourist informants of the network welcome visitors, advising them and informing them about the wide range of cultural, sports, natural, leisure, and general tourist activities offered in the region.
According to Turisme, «service quality, warmth of attention, and innovation are crucial in customer loyalty processes, for the enjoyment of their stays and the increase in their satisfaction levels.»
It also points out that the network has become «a fundamental tool for the complementarity of the tourist offer among different destinations, since all offices inform about the set of tourist attractions in the region, and for tourist promotion at the destination, offering their facilities as a platform for the dissemination of their offer.»
