The Industry Councilor, Elisa Guillem, has announced that the company carrying out these works will be PAVASAL for an amount of 2.26 million euros.
This Thursday, the work on the new access road to the Santiago Payà-Sant Benet Industrial Estate has been definitively awarded. This was announced by the Industry Councilor, Elisa Guillem, who expressed her satisfaction at being able to carry out this intervention, which she describes as «essential.»
The contracting company is PAVASAL Empresa Constructora S.A.U., for an amount of 2,262,248.34 euros, including VAT. The works will involve the removal of the existing bridge, the consolidation of the slope, and the construction of a rockfill wall and the new road.
In this way, a problem that arose in April 2012, when the access bridge to the area collapsed due to a landslide, will be solved. Temporary solutions had been implemented since then, and as Elisa Guillem emphasizes, «now the definitive solution has arrived.»
According to Guillem, with the awarding of these works, «a very important step is being taken to solve a problem that affects the thirty companies in the area,» highlighting that «it is essential to guarantee the development of these industries and the jobs they create.» She also affirms that this intervention will facilitate the attraction of new companies.
It is worth noting that this intervention was excluded from IVACE grants last year because the Generalitat argued «budgetary insufficiency,» despite meeting the technical requirements. This year, the request for this assistance has been made again, and we are awaiting the resolution. Specifically, the amount requested is around 630,000 euros, corresponding to the first two phases of the works.
In conclusion, the councilor emphasized that «since the beginning of the legislature two years ago, with the new coalition municipal government, the construction of this new access road to Santiago Payà was established as a priority in the industrial sector. Now we will make it a reality.» She also wanted to thank the involvement of the technicians from the different departments who made this award possible.
