The first details of the Official Race begin to be appreciated on the Rambla with the installation of the infrastructure of the stands
Alicante, April 8, 2025.– The Government Board of the City Council of Alicante has approved this Tuesday the call for grants for the 27 brotherhoods and fraternities that make up the Alicante Holy Week. The total grant, which remains the same as last year, amounts to 102,198 euros. It is intended for the organization and participation in the celebration of public shows and socio-cultural activities framed in Holy Week, storage, maintenance, conservation and restoration of imagery, steps, and thrones, and the development of dissemination and promotion actions.
The amount of the grant to each of the brotherhoods and fraternities is 3,800 euros, except for the Hermandad de Jesús Triunfante, which is 3,398.73 euros. The subsidized percentages, according to the requests of the different brotherhoods and fraternities, range from 38% for the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Humility and Patience, to 93.28% for the Penitential Brotherhood of Forgiveness.
The first details of the Official Race have begun to be appreciated in these first days of the Week on the Rambla de Méndez Núñez. The assembly of the different stands and the Official Tribune require the closure of traffic in a downward direction. This task will be followed in the coming days by the placement of the valances to decorate those stands, most of which were acquired by the brotherhoods and fraternities or by companies collaborating with the Major Board.
It will be from this Thursday when the two floral tapestries begin to be installed in two of the access doors to the Baroque building of the City Council of Alicante. One of them will reproduce the poster announcing Holy Week 2025, originally by Rafael Muñoz, and the other will refer to the 1949 poster, a work by Manuel Moreno Pezzi.
The next event before the start of Holy Week is scheduled for April 11 -Friday of Sorrows- with the presentation of the Official Magazine, the 27th issue of the second era, in the Blue Hall of the City Council of Alicante.
