The ‘popular’ leader and the ‘president’ criticize Sánchez for «not presenting» the Budget and ask him to «leave»
The Deputy Secretary of Autonomous, Local and Electoral Analysis Coordination of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has conveyed to the ‘president’ of the Generalitat and leader of the ‘popular’ party in the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, all the «support and commitment» of the national party leadership for the reconstruction after the dana of October 29 «despite all the noise.»
In these terms, he expressed himself during an event of the party on housing policies, prior to the XXVII ‘popular’ Interparliamentary, held on Monday at the Archaeological Museum (MARQ) in Alicante. Both Bendodo and Mazón have criticized the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, for «not presenting» the General State Budgets (PGE), so they have asked him to «leave» and «call for elections.»
Bendodo highlighted that Mazón «is rebuilding all the effects of the dana,» although he noted that «obviously it is not easy,» while Sánchez «is there to be there,» «does nothing,» and «gives in to everything in order to stay seated in the La Moncloa seat.»
«We denounce from here the paralysis in Congress of the anti-squatting law, which was approved in the Senate more than a year ago. As Sánchez knows that it will go through in Congress, he does not bring it to a vote,» he argued.
«CONTINUOUS PANTS DOWN»
The ‘popular’ leader also criticized that the head of the central government «went to Brussels and committed to increasing defense spending» while «half of his Government,» represented by Sumar, «calls for a demonstration against it» and «asks Spain to leave NATO.»
«This legislature is the story of a continuous pants down,» Bendodo assessed, later insisting that Sánchez «crosses red lines in exchange for being seated in La Moncloa.»
At this point, he considered that Sánchez «lives off the oxygen of independence, although he is running out of it because he does not push through the Budgets, with half of the Government against and without bringing laws to Parliament.» «He cannot go out on the street because he gets booed. That is the reality we have with this Prime Minister. He should call for elections and leave,» he added.
And he added: «Sánchez said at the time that if you are not able to present the Budgets, you should call for elections, because a Government without them is as useless as a car without gasoline.»
MAZÓN URGES SÁNCHEZ TO «COME AND FULFILL» WITH VALENCIA
For his part, Mazón, in the same line as Bendodo, insisted that the PP is «ready to act» and that Sánchez «is not»: «He will be in La Moncloa, because he does not come here. I am going to invite him to come to fulfill the reconstruction. I cannot force him, but I can propose it, for him to come to help in one of the most abandoned lands in Spain.»
Additionally, he boasted that the Council he presides over has managed to «have budgets» for the «reconstruction» –after the agreement announced last week with Vox– and «the entire Valencian Community» in very difficult conditions and with «a political panorama that is not easy» for the accounts «of the most important year.» «We do not have an absolute majority, but we have fulfilled,» he emphasized.
«I am proud to have presented the budgets that his land needs and to have fulfilled my responsibility so that the regional deputies have the opportunity to vote yes or no. Let each one assume their responsibility, I have assumed mine. The PP of the Valencian Community, in the most difficult moment, puts on the table the budgets that his land needs, those of the reconstruction. Is there anything more important?» Mazón reflected.
For all this, he believes that Sánchez «does not fulfill his obligation» because he «does not even present» the Budgets, and considers that if he does not do it «it is because he does not want to,» although «then Parliament will say.»
«If after the greatest tragedy in the history of Spain you do not have what you need to present them, you do not deserve to be the President of the Government of Spain,» he added, to conclude that «the rest is taking advantage of the pain unjustly and not fulfilling the obligation to work and rebuild.»
HOUSING POLICIES
During their speeches, both PP officials criticized the housing policies of the Spanish Government and the previous regional government of Botànic.
In particular, Bendodo defended the housing proposals of the PP «against empty promises from others,» pointing out that «Sánchez promised 200,000 homes and has not built a single one in all these years,» while, in his opinion, work is being done in this area in the Valencian Community.
He emphasized: «Because of this Government, Spanish young people are going to live worse than their parents, with fewer opportunities than them. We are still in time to reverse it and stop it. The PSOE is an expert in safeguarding inequalities. The PP in safeguarding opportunities and not giving in to independence.»
He also criticized the state Housing Law and other «disastrous» regulations in the «seven years of ‘sanchismo’,» and asked him to «at least copy what the autonomous communities governed by the PP are doing,» with proposals that «are yielding results.»
Also regarding housing, Mazón defended the management carried out by the PP in the Generalitat since he became ‘president’. He also reproached the Botànic for not delivering a single home to disadvantaged individuals, people with disabilities, victims of gender-based violence, young people, or single-parent families in eight years.
Thus, he defended the «reductions in taxes» such as property transfer tax or inheritance tax, as well as the development of the Vive Plan in the three provinces, «with 303 municipalities of all political stripes and almost 2,000 public housing units in the bidding process.» «We are expanding the supply, which is how prices drop. It cannot be capped because it generates a Soviet and Venezuelan bubble,» he stated.
The event held on Monday in Alicante was also attended by the Vice President of the Generalitat and Minister of Housing, Susana Camarero; the PP’s spokesperson in Les Corts, Juanfran Pérez Llorca; the President of the Alicante Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, and the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, as well as PP officials from all over Spain.
