The Marbled Teal is an endangered species. The largest population of this critically endangered species in Europe is found in the wetlands of southern Alicante and in the Doñana National Park, where, in recent years, the European project LIFE MARBLED TEAL, in which the Elche City Council collaborates from the Clot de Galvany and among its actions is the reinforcement of existing natural populations through the release of individuals raised in captivity, like the one that has taken place in the Clot de Galvany.
