Installed cameras in the bathrooms of family homes and a neighbor
The Third Section of the Provincial Court of Alicante has sentenced a man to a total of 12 years and one month in prison for sexually abusing two minors — his partner’s daughters — recording several women in the bathrooms of their respective homes — where he installed cameras — and distributing child pornography.
He is also ordered to pay compensation totaling 65,000 euros. Therefore, he must pay 15,000 and 20,000 euros to the two victims of the abuses — committed when they were between five and six and between seven and eight years old — and 5,000 euros to each of the other victims — adult women — whom he recorded in privacy.
Thus, the Court convicts the man of six crimes of discovery and disclosure of secrets, two other crimes of sexual abuse of a minor, and the offenses of producing child pornography and possessing and distributing this pedophilic material.
During the trial held on December 11, both the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the private prosecution, and the defense of the now convicted individual reached an agreement and fully agreed on the facts proven, their legal qualification, and the sentence to be imposed.
The sentence was handed down ‘in voce’ and was declared final at the same trial, after the parties expressed their intention not to appeal it, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).
The events began in 2009 when the defendant began a romantic relationship with a woman that lasted until 2017, during which time he lived with her and her two minor children in different homes in Dénia (Alicante).
In these homes, the man installed a hidden camera in the bathroom used regularly by the minors or anyone visiting the home.
The device captured intimate images of both the defendant’s partner and her younger daughter, who was 12 years old at the time, as well as another minor who also used the facilities of the home. He then stored the recordings on a computer.
Furthermore, in late 2017, the accused began a new romantic relationship with another woman who had two minor daughters and started living with them in 2019 in a home in the same town of Alicante.
Similar to the previous case, the now convicted individual recorded his romantic partner without her permission while they were engaging in sexual activities and stored the video on a mobile phone.
Additionally, he subjected the two minor daughters of the woman to touching, recorded these sexual acts, and stored the pedophilic content images on a computer.
Likewise, in January 2021, a neighbor asked him for help to change a light bulb in the bathroom, to which the convicted individual agreed, taking advantage of the situation to also install a hidden camera under the sink in that bathroom. The device captured intimate images of the tenant of the residence and her daughter, both appearing naked.
STORED AND SHARED RECORDINGS
During the search and seizure at the defendant’s home carried out on March 9, 2021, several electronic devices, computers, hard drives, and mobile phones were found in which the man stored a large number of pedophilic audiovisual files, not only for his own use but also shared with others.
