Convocatoria de Ayudas para Estudiantes de Benidorm en el Extranjero

The Benidorm City Council will allocate 22,000 euros to finance, once again, international mobility grants for local students who carry out stays abroad through the Erasmus+ program or other official programs related to studies leading to a Bachelor’s degree in the academic year 2025/26. This was approved on Monday by the Local Government Board (JGL) following a proposal put forward by the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno.

According to Moreno, these grants aim to «collaborate with university students and Higher Vocational Training students from Benidorm who, as part of their training, participate in these programs to carry out part of their studies in other countries; an option that also allows them to experience living outside of Spain and complement their academic activities with the learning or improvement of a foreign language.» In this way, the municipal grant helps «reduce the expenses incurred by the families of the beneficiaries in these programs» and, at the same time, «promote the exchange of students with other foreign institutions, contributing to the creation of a community of well-qualified young people and future professionals with international experience,» added the councilor.

The terms of the call establish that beneficiaries of these grants will receive 100 euros for each month of stay abroad, with a maximum period of 9 months, which is the duration of the full academic year. Likewise, the councilor emphasized that «this municipal grant is fully compatible with others that the student may receive from any public administration or private entity to facilitate their stay during the program.» Ultimately, «it is about contributing our bit to ensure that students from Benidorm have more facilities and financial resources during the months they spend studying abroad.»

Moreno pointed out that «the regulations governing these grants stipulate that payment to beneficiaries will be made in a single installment, once their stay at the destination university for the specified period of time has been verified.» Those registered in Benidorm continuously for a year who can prove they have been selected to participate in an international mobility program for the 2025/2026 academic year are eligible for these grants.

To facilitate the application and receipt of this grant, «there will be two application periods.» The first one runs from June 16 to June 30, 2025. As for the second period, it will be from July 23 to August 4, and applicants for Erasmus+ scholarships in the second round, as well as those students who did not know or did not have their status as program beneficiaries in the first round, can participate.

Applications must be processed through the Benidorm City Council’s Electronic Office: www.sede.benidorm.org, in the ‘EDUCATION’ section of the service catalog, selecting the procedure: «International Mobility Grants academic year 2025/2026.» Councillor Maite Moreno has indicated that all interested parties can find information about this grant program on the municipal website, at the link https://benidorm.org/es/ayuntamiento/concejalias/educacion/ayudas/ayudas-municipales-para-la-movilidad-internacional
