After the deadline for submission, the jury will have 4 months to analyze all the proposals without knowing the names of the responsible parties, only through a motto, and decide the winner. According to Navarro, «the approval of the direct occupation file and this ideas competition demonstrate the will of the municipal government and the Provincial Council for the Congress Palace to become a reality as soon as possible.»
The future Congress Palace of Elche will have a capacity for more than 3,300 people and will combine the hosting of congresses with musical uses. The building will occupy a constructed area of 13,000 square meters and will have a main hall of 2,000 square meters and 1,200 seats, as well as five auxiliary rooms that will accommodate from 150 to 450 seats, offices, cafeteria, warehouses, and a large exhibition area of 2,000 square meters.
The budget allocated to the building will be 23.4 million euros and also a parking lot of three floors and 14,000 square meters for 420 spaces will be built, representing an investment of 10.5 million euros. The project will also include the urbanization of the surrounding area and adjacent streets with a budget of 820,000 euros.
