Entrega de cheques a asociaciones por barras solidarias en Alicante

Alicante, June 6, 2025. The Alicante City Council has delivered the four checks from the proceeds of the solidarity bars installed at the New Year’s Eve 2024 and Carnival 2025 festivals to the associations Alinur, APSA, and the Jorge Talavera Foundation. The Councilwomen for Festivities, Cristina Cutanda, and Commerce, Lidia López, along with the president of the Association of Restaurants and Leisure Establishments of Alicante – Alroa, Javier Galdeano, and members of the municipal Corporation, welcomed the social entities at an event held this Friday in the Blue Hall of the Town Hall. The initiative raised a total of 7,299 euros in this edition, and each entity received a solidarity check for 2,433 euros to carry out social projects.

The Councilwoman for Festivities spoke at the event to welcome and thank «the initiative of Alroa, which shares part of the profits from the city’s major festivals and has been involved for many years in supporting associations, as well as the solidarity of the people of Alicante.» She congratulated the beneficiary associations, emphasizing that «we hope that with this small contribution we give you, we continue to improve the health of those who need it most and we thank you for your altruistic social work.»

The solidarity bars have been successfully held in the city for eleven years and are organized in collaboration with the Alicante City Council and the Association of Restaurants and Leisure Establishments of Alicante – Alroa – and Soho-Baviera. A solidarity bar was set up last New Year’s Eve, and two more were installed during this year’s Ramblero celebration.

The Councilwoman for Hospitality also thanked Alroa for their involvement and the organization of this solidarity initiative, highlighting that «it has been many years of effort promoting the solidarity bars that are worth it so that this contribution adds to the daily lives of those in need and those who work in these foundations and associations to make their lives easier and provide them with more tools.» Lidia López also highlighted the solidarity of the people of Alicante, stating «we are very supportive, whenever we are needed, we are there as we demonstrated during the Dana, and we will continue to work to collaborate in this important action.»

After the speeches, the Councilwomen for Festivities and Hospitality handed over the checks, which were received by Nito Manero, president of APSA, Leonor Martínez, president of Alinur, and Jorge Talavera, on behalf of the foundation that bears his name.

The president of Alroa pointed out that the organization of these bars means for them «being able to give visibility and thank, along with all our associates, the social entities for the immense work they do in the city.» He emphasized their work, stating that «they are the real protagonists in this event, and we are very proud and want to continue collaborating with these contributions.» Galdeano also mentioned that they will continue to seek ways to collaborate to increase the amounts raised and the number of beneficiary associations.

Alinur, APSA, and the Jorge Talavera Foundation receive the checks

The president of Alinur, Leonor Martínez, took the floor to «thank the initiative of both the City Council and Alroa, and all the members of this association including entrepreneurs, restaurants, and leisure establishments who always support us.» She emphasized that this is a «very beautiful initiative as they are all very supportive, and with this donation, they help us to continue and recognize our work to continue defending rights, inclusion, and above all, improving the quality of life of the people we represent.»

In addition, Nito Manero, president of APSA, explained that «this aid will go towards a scholarship for a child whose parents cannot afford it, we thank you and next year we will tell you how their treatment has gone.» Finally, Jorge Talavera emphasized that «Alroa’s help is continuous and very necessary to continue working for the benefit of those who need it most.»
