Alicante, March 12, 2025. Rosa Montero, Carmen Amoraga, Joaquím Bosch, Pilar Adón, and Jesús Terrés are some of the writers who will participate in the 55th edition of the Alicante Book Fair, which will take place from April 2 to 6 at Espacio Séneca. This year, the event will almost double the number of participating writers, with 233. There will be 22 official book presentations, two conferences, musical performances, and activities for children. The number of booths will also increase from around twenty to thirty this year.
The Councilor for Culture, Antonio Peral, and the director of Makyre Events, Macarena Regueira, presented the city’s largest literary event on Wednesday, along with local authors Paz Castelló, Alfredo Campello, Raúl Barbetly, Lola Mateo, Antonio Sempere, Pep Rubio, and Chus Sánchez.

This edition of the Alicante Book Fair carries the slogan «Sea of Letters.» Fifty percent of the authors attending, aside from those signing at bookstore booths, are national, with the other half being local authors who will conduct a total of 22 official book presentations and two conferences. The opening conference will be given by El Niño de Elche, and Nuria Labari will close with the final presentation.
Regarding literary awards, the Alicante Book Fair will host the 2023 Narrative Prize winner Pilar Adón, the 2024 Tusquets Prize winner Corina Oproae, and Rosa Montero, the 2024 Maga de Magas Award for Professional Trajectory, awarded by El Español newspaper. Other renowned authors such as Joaquim Bosch, Carmen Amoraga, Vicente Garrido, Susana Fortes, Alfredo Fernandez Mallo, Mamen Monsoriu, and the youth literature phenomenon Inma Rubiales will also participate.
The programming for the 2025 Book Fair is designed for all types of audiences and readers. It includes conferences, panel discussions, round tables on various topics, book presentations, and activities at the booths. Following the success of the previous edition, there will be musical performances by Laura Palmer, singer-songwriter Raúl Abreu, blues by «Two Fabulous Blueslas,» Sugar covers, and other activities like open mic poetry sessions.
The number of booths has increased to thirty, representing 21 publishers, institutions, and entities. The Council for Culture continues to provide a 40% cost subsidy for booksellers, as set up last year, to set up their spaces at Plaza de Séneca.

For the Little Ones
Children will play a significant role in the children’s tent. They can enjoy workshops and children’s storytelling sessions throughout the Book Fair days. In total, there will be 15 activities, each specifying the recommended age for participation.
At the same time, a «children’s micro-story contest» has been organized with the participation of several city schools.

Parking
Additionally, this edition will feature, for the first time, collaboration with Telpark parking, located on Italia Street. During the fair days, attendees can pick up one of the 2,500 tickets at the Council for Culture booth, exempting them from the first half-hour of parking fees.
