Fiestas convoca una línea de ayudas con 21.000 euros para colaborar con las entidades festeras de Benidorm

The Benidorm City Council, through the Festivities Department, has once again approved a budget of 21,000 euros to collaborate with the festive and non-profit entities of the locality. The local Government Board has given the green light to this line of aid, as explained by the councilor in charge, Mariló Cebreros, with the aim of «helping to cover some of the expenses involved in organizing the festivities or events» and «to control the expenditure equitably with all, based on the relevance and event held» throughout the year 2025.

Cebreros has indicated that, as outlined in the guidelines, these subsidies are aimed at «supporting activities that promote the traditions of the city while serving as a tourist attraction for our municipality», so the granting of them will take into account different types of festivities to be subsidized. On one hand, there are the ‘Relevant Festivities in the Valencian Community’, with a total budget of 7,000 euros from which no more than 2,000 euros can be applied for per entity, provided they meet requirements such as holding parades, having music bands parade through the streets of the municipality, having some pyrotechnic event, the Festivities lasting a minimum of three days, installing a representative element characteristic of the festivity, or having conducted their activities for more than 5 years.

The second category will be that of ‘Regional Houses’, with a total budget of 1,800 euros from which no more than 600 euros can be applied for per entity, requiring, among other things, holding parades, celebrating a public event on the official day of their Community, having music bands parade through the streets of the municipality, organizing gastronomic tastings, and having conducted their activities for more than 5 years.

In third place are the so-called ‘Neighborhood Festivities’, endowed with a total budget of 800 euros from which 100% of the subsidy can be applied for as long as they meet the following requirements: organizing a music event for the neighborhood; holding parades and gastronomic tastings; as well as having carried out their activities for more than 5 years. The ‘Traditional Festivities’ are in fourth place, with a total budget of 6,600 euros from which no more than 1,100 euros can be applied for per entity, as long as they meet very similar requirements to the previous three, including aspects such as the duration of their festivities or the holding of pyrotechnic events.

Lastly, the fifth category is related to the ‘Brotherhoods’, with a total budget of 5,400 euros from which no more than 600 euros can be applied for per entity, with requirements to participate in events related to the Major Patron Festivities; participate in at least two processions; have at least one processional float; or have an age of more than 5 years. In addition, the number of events they carry out will be considered in the allocation criteria.

The deadline to apply for these grants will be extended for a period of 30 days after the announcement is published in the Official Provincial Gazette, as explained by the responsible councilor, who also noted that applying entities must be legally constituted and registered in the Benidorm City Council’s Association Register; have a social headquarters or stable branch, active and open to the public in Benidorm; have specific institutional purposes, according to their own statutes and the characteristics of each entity, aimed at festive activities and promotion of tourism in the municipality; and be up to date with their tax obligations.

Cebreros concluded by stating that from the local government, «we once again demonstrate our commitment to the festive entities of Benidorm and those who are part of them», while also «recognizing the value that many of these festivities have as a tourist attraction» for Benidorm.
