At around 7:00 pm, at the confluence of Paseo de Colón with Parque de Elche, the Xirimiters de la Marina opened the pilgrimage that would go through the historic center of Benidorm to Plaça de la Senyoria, where the monument in honor of the Fallen at Sea is located.
The Councilor for Festivities, Mariló Cebreros, accompanied by other members of the municipal corporation and the regional deputy José Ramón González de Zárate, led the municipal representation that accompanied the Festivities Commission of Carmen chaired by Ginés Alvarado. Also, the queens of Festes Majors Patronals 2025 Aitana Pérez and Paula Pascual participated alongside the president of the Comissió, Susana Martínez, and the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge, Jonathan López.
Once in Plaça de la Senyoria, there was a flower offering to the Virgin in which, in addition to those mentioned, the association Mujeres 2000 and the Falla Benidorm Centro participated, and then, at the foot of the Monument to the Fallen at Sea fountain, laurel wreaths were thrown.
The first one, from the Festivities Commission of Carmen, carried by its president, the Marinera de Honor 2025, Ariadna Orgilés, and the Chief Patron, José Miguel Martínez. The second, on behalf of the Festes Majors Patronals, by the queens and the president of the Comissió. And the third, from the City Council, by Cebreros and González de Zárate. The event ended with the attendees singing the Salve Marinera.
Today, Sunday, the celebrations in honor of the Star of the Seas continue with a mascletá at 2:00 pm on Avenida Rei Jaume I and with the traditional maritime procession that will sail through the waters of our bay starting at 7:00 pm.
