La recogida de enseres con cita aumenta un 29% con la campaña Hagamos Alicante más limpia

Alicante, March 23, 2025. The Alicante City Council and Netial, the company in charge of cleaning and waste collection services, have collected a total of 2,561 items from the streets between January 19 and February 19, thanks to Netial’s appointment service. This figure contrasts with the 1,981 objects removed in December, representing a 29% increase. This achievement comes after the launch of the «Let’s Make Alicante Cleaner» campaign on January 16, aimed at engaging citizens in caring for the streets and public spaces of Alicante.

The Councilor for Street Cleaning and Waste Management, Manuel Villar, expressed his gratitude for «the positive response to the campaign and the collaboration of the people of Alicante in such a necessary matter as requesting the collection of items from Netial via WhatsApp on the website www.tuhacesalicante.com, where the ongoing awareness campaign has had a significant impact.»

This increase in item collection to 2,561 objects in February, compared to 1,981 in December, through Netial’s appointment service, represents a 29% increase in January-February compared to December 2024.

The purpose of this service is to prevent items from being left in containers or on the street, thus keeping the city streets clean and avoiding large objects becoming obstacles in public spaces.

In 2024, the City Council and Netial removed 23,036 items from the streets through this appointment service. The total collected on the streets without an appointment is much higher, which is why one of the main focuses of this campaign is for citizens to use this service more frequently and not leave furniture and appliances on the street without prior notice.

Call or Message

One of the key aspects of the «Let’s Make Alicante Cleaner» campaign focuses precisely on this service, which citizens can call for free when disposing of furniture, appliances, mattresses, or any other bulky items.

In fact, one of the messages, and its corresponding poster, is related to the collection of items, mentioning the appointment service for item collection and providing the phone number for WhatsApp contact, 670 086 411. This service can also be accessed by calling the toll-free number 900 729 729.

Netial provides this service every day, and the procedure for using it is simple. The first step is to call or send a WhatsApp message, and the second is to process the request; during this process, a day and time for collection will be scheduled. It is important to note that items should be left next to the nearest container to the street provided by the citizen, on the scheduled day, between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

Citizen Collaboration

Netial requests citizen collaboration to avoid blocking access to the container with items placed next to it.

The company responsible for cleaning and waste collection services in Alicante states that «the free item collection service is an efficient solution for managing this type of waste, while also promoting the habit of caring for the environment.»
