La sexta Feria de Empleo y Formación en Zona Norte de Alicante el jueves 10 de abril.

18 companies collaborating in training and internships will be recognized, with workshops and talks, and a bonfire built by students from IES Las Lomas will be burned.

Alicante, April 7, 2025. The Alicante City Council is organizing the sixth edition of the Employment and Training Fair this coming Thursday, April 10, on the streets adjacent to Centro 14 Unamuno in Virgen del Remedio. The event, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will involve several hundred young students from nine high schools in the city and 22 other entities related to the employment and youth sector, as well as recognizing the collaboration and internship opportunities offered by 18 companies and showcasing new job search opportunities.

This activity is part of the actions of the second phase of the Barrios Zona Norte Integral Plan, in a call that has been successful thanks to the networking carried out for the past six years by the Youth, Employment and Strategic Plans and European Projects, and Social Welfare departments, along with secondary schools, social entities, and institutions.

The Councilor for Employment and Development, Mari Carmen de España, emphasized that “students from different professional families will be the real protagonists, responsible for providing information and conducting workshops and demonstrations on the training they are receiving at their Educational Centers. It is particularly aimed at young audiences: students, professionals, or active workers or those actively seeking employment. Especially targeted are those pursuing Vocational Training or Occupational Training at any level: 3rd and 4th year ESO students, Vocational Training and Baccalaureate students, as well as young and not-so-young individuals actively seeking employment.”

The Youth Councilor, Begoña León, explained that «this fair is a great opportunity for both high schools and students who want to have a job and find employment, as they can firsthand learn about all the active job offers and the easiest way to apply for them.» She also emphasized «the importance of recognizing the talent of the youth, encouraging young people to have dignified employment and opportunities.»

The Councilor for Strategic Plans and European Projects, Antonio Peral, and President of District 2, highlighted that “this is a traditional event of great importance for the neighborhoods in the northern area of the city, requiring these types of actions that offer future opportunities for young people throughout the city, for which we thank the collaboration of companies, entities, and institutions in this effort.”

Fair Description

Therefore, anyone interested can have a direct experience with training and employment resources, even coming into contact with companies and entities dedicated to enhancing employability and job prospects. It will feature informative stands from public Vocational Training centers and entities related to occupational training and employment, authorized job placement agencies, social entities, and special employment centers, in addition to a central information stand from the Alicante City Council.

Each stand will inform about its activities, with live demonstrations and workshops on bonfire construction, hairdressing and makeup, emergency services, sports activities, floral arrangements, volunteering, Erasmus, a simulated house fire, among other children’s reading workshops. Additionally, there will be a stage where workshops and exhibitions will take place throughout the morning.

For the third consecutive year, recognition and gratitude will be given to companies collaborating with training programs at schools in the northern area, with entities such as Nazaret and the Secretariat of the Gypsy Foundation, and with the El Tossalet Employment Center, for their special dedication, involvement, consistency, loyalty, or level of student integration in the training of each of the professional families they develop.
