According to Senén Ródenas, chief of the Local Police and organizer of the sports event, «the objective of the race is for participants to get to know our municipal area, our beautiful landscapes, and our rich gastronomy, and we hope that more enthusiasts will join every year» and has emphasized that this is a charitable event as this year, the proceeds from the race bibs will be donated to the Oncology Patient Support Unit Foundation (UAPO).
The Ultrahélike course goes through the entire municipal area in two different routes. Among the most important points where runners and walkers will pass by are the Pantano, the Cau, the barranco del grifo, the beach, the Castro mountain, or some of the pedanías ilicitanas.
The long-distance race will have around 300 volunteers, including Local Police and Civil Protection, who will help prevent any incidents. Additionally, on Friday, February 21 from 10:00 to 20:00, the expo of the runner will take place at the Local Police Headquarters in Elche where bibs will be distributed, participant accreditations, brand stands, life bag delivery for the 100K participants, as well as a talk with elite athletes, nutritionists, and coaches.
The vast majority of participants are from Spain, especially from the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, and Valencia, but also from Madrid, Barcelona, Albacete, Castellón, Tarragona, or the Balearic Islands. Additionally, among the registered participants are runners from other countries such as Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Portugal, or Finland.
