The Local Police will ensure with 120 agents the normal development of the party and access to the urban bus in Puerta del Mar, and Social Welfare will establish a ‘Purple Point’ in the vicinity of Casa de la Festa

Alicante, February 26, 2025. The Alicante City Council will reinforce the night bus service for the Carnaval’s Ramblero Saturday on its three lines (3N, 13N, and 22N) between Puerta del Mar square and Luna square, Villafranqueza, and PAU5 in Playa San Juan, respectively, with four additional units to the usual ones from Saturday to Sunday early morning, with frequencies of 30 minutes in the first two and 25 in the third. These night services will be complemented by the interurban transport lines 21N, 23N, 24N, and C6, as well as by the TRAM, which will extend the service until three in the morning on Sunday.

A total of 45 trams from lines 2, 3, and 4, will connect the Central Market station with San Vicente del Raspeig, El Campello, and La Coruña square in Playa San Juan, until three in the morning on Sunday.

In addition, the concessionaire company Vectalia MIA will also reinforce both on Friday and Saturday the usual service on lines 2 (La Florida-Sagrada Familia/El Pla) and 3 (Ciudad de Asís-Colonia Requena), the discretionary service of 25 (Plaza Ruperto Chapí-Villafranqueza), and the interurban 30 (San Vicente del Raspeig-La Alcoraya), as well as the On-Demand Transport (TAD) to facilitate connections between different neighborhoods and districts with the city center.

The public transport concessionaire will establish signaling and marking measures at the ends of the lines in Puerta del Mar square, in order to organize access and queues and regulate the use of public transport even with advance payment, all under the control of the Local Police. The access fencing will also extend to the taxi stand.

Traffic Cuts

The Urban Mobility department has also arranged road closures on Rambla de Méndez Núñez from 6:30 am on Saturday, March 1, until 10 am on Sunday. It has also established a parking ban from 4 pm to 4 am on Ramblero Saturday in the motorcycle parking and loading and unloading areas between Altamira street and San Fernando to make them available for ambulances and Civil Protection vehicles.

The closure of Rambla will affect bus lines passing or stopping on this artery, establishing the corresponding detours. Specifically, lines 2, 5 (Explanada-San Agustín), 12 (Puerta del Mar-Santo Domingo-San Blas-Juan Pablo II), 21 (Alicante-Campello-Interurban), 22 (Alicante-Cabo de la Huerta-Playa San Juan), and Turibús will be diverted at this point, through Mártires de la Libertad axis, Ramón y Cajal avenue, Gadea, and Calvo Sotelo square where they will resume their usual route.

Lines 8 (Explanada-Virgen del Remedio), 10 (Explanada-Gran Vía-Vía Parque), 13 (Explanada-Virgen del Remedio-Villafranqueza), and the night lines 3N, 13N, and 24N (Alicante-San Vicente-interurban) will have their routes cut short to Vicente Inglada street or Plaza de España.

Security Device

This Wednesday, the departments involved in the organization of the Carnaval have met to finalize all preparations for Ramblero Saturday, for the normal development of the great party of masks and costumes. The security device will be composed of 120 local police officers, 25 civil protection volunteers, and 30 firefighters from the SPEIS, who will coordinate with the rest of the State Security Forces and Bodies.

Likewise, the Social Welfare department will install a Purple Point in the vicinity of Casa de la Festa on the central area of Rambla de Méndez Núñez, from 10:00 pm to 03:00 am, attended by three professionals.

Equality agents will distribute informative material such as foldable pocket guides, quick response guides to gender violence situations, cup covers to prevent chemical submission, badges, and bracelets with messages. In particular, the pocket guides contain information on what sexual and sexist aggressions and chemical submission are, what to do if you suffer or witness one, and the phone numbers to call for help.

Schedule and Activities of Ramblero Saturday

The Children’s and Adult Carnivals will take place on the Saturday Ramblero evening. The first one will be held from 5 to 8 pm. It will include face painting, crafts, and the show ‘El Mago Guillermo’. This will be performed on the stage located at the height of Portal de Elche. From 10 pm to 4 am on Sunday, it will be the turn of the Adult Carnival, which will have a double stage located at the height of Casa de la Festa with ‘El Pulpo’ and the Cadena 100 Party, and DJs Rafa Sánchez, Sergio Salinas, and Fredy Vidal. In front of Portal de Elche, the second stage will feature the ‘Etiqueta Show’ orchestra.

There will also be solidarity bars on Rambla coordinated by the Association of Restaurants and Leisure of Alicante (ALROA), which will allocate 90% of the proceeds to Apsa Alicante, and the foundations «Jorge Talavera» and Alinur.
