Solicitud de reunión con el Ministro de Transportes en Elche

On Tuesday, March 4th, the City Council of Elche sent a new letter to the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puente, requesting a meeting with the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz, urgently to discuss the needs of the municipality and its residents, as well as the necessary actions to be taken.

This marks the sixth letter sent to the Minister of Transport requesting a meeting, either in Elche or Madrid. The first letter was sent on November 21, 2023, and since then, 469 days have passed without any response. The subsequent letters were sent in 2024 on April 26, May 8, June 26, and July 30.

Ruz emphasized the need to address the modernization of the C1 Murcia Alicante railway line, which is still not electrified and operates with diesel trains in the 21st century. He also highlighted the importance of the railway connection to Alicante-Elche «Miguel Hernández» Airport, the improvement of the underground stations at Elche Parque and Elche Carrús due to frequent malfunctions of escalators and elevators, as well as the current status of the Torrellano variant project.
