
Around 900 primary school students from most of the public and private schools in the city have visited the theater today thanks to a new edition of the ‘Joves Espectadors’ program, promoted by the Departments of Culture and Education.
Throughout the morning, the students, divided into two sessions at 9:45 and 11:30, attended the performance of the play ‘The Lying Ghost’, by the company ‘El Cau de l’Unicorn’. In this performance, a musical with puppets and actors in black light, the current fables it contains are a tribute to tolerance where situations become complicated due to misunderstandings caused by prejudices, only to be clarified and resolved in the most unexpected way. With highly refined texts and a great visual and musical impact, the pace of the play keeps the children very receptive and expectant throughout the performance.
The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who attended the first session with the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, highlighted that «carrying out this initiative in the auditorium of the Cultural Center allows us to reach more primary school students.» He also stated that the objective remains «to familiarize the young audience with the performing arts through a play that also has an educational component.»
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, explained that this program «is one of the proposals that throughout the school year the City Council offers to the educational centers of Benidorm to complement their curricular activities and also serve as a meeting point for students from different schools in our city.»
The company ‘El Cau de l’Unicorn’ was founded in 1994 and has performed at numerous prestigious festivals and fairs throughout its history, receiving various awards and recognitions over the years.
