This morning, a meeting between poets and ESO students from the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores private school was held in the Auditorium of the City Hall, where young people were able to share their creations with the poets and interact with them in a playful interactive literary creation class.
In the afternoon, the same auditorium hosted the second session of recitals, which was attended by the Councilor of Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, other members of the council, and the Consul of Poland in Barcelona, Łukasz Knurowski.
The Festival Director, Julio Pavaneti, greeted the attendees on the occasion of today’s celebration, March 21, the International Day of Poetry, and thanked Anabel Villar for her work in organizing the event. He also expressed gratitude for the «boost given to us by the Councilor of Culture» for the festival to reach its sixth edition and recalled that «poetry can make the world more human.»
Next, Łukasz Knurowski briefly addressed the attendees, saying he felt «honored to greet poets from Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, or Poland who share their voices and creativity with us.»
The Polish consul highlighted that poetry is «a form of human expression» that has transcended «cultural and linguistic barriers» and that in the case of Spain and Poland, it has served as a «bridge that has united our nations.» Knurowski emphasized this collaboration, which has taken shape on this occasion with a Spanish-Polish poetic anthology entitled ‘A Bridge Between Cultures.’
The poetic session included collaboration with the Rosa Martínez Dance Studio, which staged various choreographies alternating with readings of creations by their authors, and finally, with the presentation of diplomas and souvenirs to the participants.
