
Alicante, April 17, 2025. Alicante will celebrate the cultural spring on May 10, on Poeta Quintana Street, with a festival full of art and gastronomy. Under the theme this year of ‘Quintana. The blood alters’, around a hundred businesses will take to the streets to enjoy a commercial day with a highly consolidated and anticipated event in the city that manages to bring together hundreds of people and promote leisure, culture, and shopping.
The event is organized by the Association of Quintana Zone Merchants in collaboration with the Alicante City Council, and it will feature live music, performances, a wide variety of gastronomy and tastings, children’s activities, workshops, as well as bringing together artists, illustrators to promote culture, with the collaboration of Facpyme.
The Councilor for Commerce and Hospitality, Lidia López, highlighted that «this event is a celebration of commerce organized to revitalize the area and bring it closer to the city, showcasing its local establishments, where we enjoy a special day with many activities promoting leisure and shopping, emphasizing the importance of supporting local commerce that offers quality services.»
The merchants of Alicante will once again come together on May 10 to organize a very special new edition of Quintana, which will feature many surprises throughout the day, with a special focus on gastronomy and offering a lineup of initiatives to also enjoy culture and artistic performances.
The president of the Quintana Zone Association, Jordi Gisbert, encouraged attendance, emphasizing that «it is a very special day for all merchants that we organize with great affection to celebrate the local commerce festival of the Quintana area with the people of Alicante and visitors, and this year there will be many surprises and it will once again be a great event with a multitude of initiatives and activities.»
Alicante City Awards for Commerce and Hospitality
This year, Alicante rewards the best businesses and hospitality establishments, with a contest organized and convened by the Alicante City Council that has six categories to award 36,000 euros for the best business trajectory, digitalization, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, neighborhood commerce, and a special prize in this edition for the Menu ‘Alicante, Spanish capital of gastronomy’.
The deadline to register ends on April 23, and companies wishing to apply can do so online on the website. Councilor Lidia López encouraged participation, stating that «these awards are an incentive to recognize the excellence and quality of the commercial and hospitality sector of our city that bet on innovation, digitalization, social responsibility, and the quality of their services, standing out in Alicante.»
Individuals, microenterprises, and small businesses with up to 49 employees engaged in retail, hospitality, or active service activities, located in commercial premises and urban areas, as well as market units and stalls in municipal markets and food galleries, are eligible for the awards.
Community Manager Course for Merchants
Additionally, the Alicante City Council offers merchants a specialized course to learn how to manage their social networks and design content. Under the title ‘Principles of Community Manager’, it will be held from May 28 to 30, and from June 2 to 18, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
The training will take place at the EDUSI Office, located in the former tobacco factory, with entrance on Cuesta de la Fábrica Street, and is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, taught by Adecco and funded by the European Next Generation.
